Located about 2 km to the north of Chaeseokgang Cliff lies the Suseongdang Shrine, a folk shrine dedicated to the guardian deity of the West Sea, Gaeyang Halmi. Buan's Chaeseokgang Cliff is a collection of rock formations and a rock cliff seemingly carved out of a thousand books stacked on top of each other. Its name comes from its resemblance to the Caishiji, a famous scenic site near the Yangtze River in China. One side of the Dalgibong Peak has been eroded over many years by waves, creating the striking sedimentary layer of today.
