Gaeam bamboo salt, roasted in fire nine times
- Clean, mineral-plenty sun dried salt from the clean seas of Gomso are put into bamboo sticks that are three years old or more. Yellow earth found deep in the mountains are molded and is used to block the openings of the bamboo sticks. Fir trees are burned to provide fire for a large oven, and the bamboo sticks are roasted eight times. For the ninth roasting, pine resin powder is put into the fire to make it stronger.
  Doing so makes the salt melt down like lava. The lava cools to create a gray colored solid. The solid is then grinded into power, and this power is bamboo salt. This bamboo salt is used to make soy sauce, red pepper paste, and soybean paste.
