- The Gomso Port was made by the Japanese by constructing a bank, when Julpo Port could no longer be used because dirt decreased the water depth of the port. The purpose of building this port was to send farm products and military materials plundered by the Japanese to Japan. There is a 50 ha-wide salt farm in the northern part of the port, making the site famous as a salt producing site. The port is also famous for its various salted dishes made by fresh fish and clams caught in the sea. On weekends the port is crowded with people touring the site and buying salted goods.
