Prosperous people, Praiseworthy Buan

This exhibition parj is located in Byeonsan-myeon Dochung-ri. One can drive there by heading towards Gyeokpohang from Buan-eup, passing by Byeonsan Beach and Mapo Town, and then changing direction and driving for about 2.5km on the left road.
The Geumguwon Sculpture Exhibition Park is Korea's very first sculpture park. It was founded by Kim Oseong in 1966, and in 2003 the Ministry of Culture
enlisted it as private museum number 277. Of the total 100 sculptures exhibited at the park. most sculptures are of women and are very realistic. The image of the sculptures seem linked to one another and makes one feel as if he/she is watching act 3, scene 5 of a play.

The outdoors exhibition site is full of trees, such as the holly, and works of art such as "Byeonsanbando," "Farmer's Hand," "A cause for infinity and finity," "The Western Sky," "Stars on a spring sky," and "Watershed" are exhibited, exhibiting the breathtaking beauty of nature and art.
These works of art are various, from marble to granite, and the size also varies; one sculpture is 450 cm. There is also Korea's very first private astronomical observatory built in 1991, the Gumguwon Astronomical Observatory, and it is popular among students and tourists interested in astronomy. Near the site there are tour sites such as Gyeokpohang, Susungdang, and Jeokbyeokgang, so it is possible to tour several places on one trip.
